Books & Tools a Perfect Combo

This book from Stacy Julian is really good! I've had it for a few weeks now, so I thought it was time to share with everyone that this book gets my two thumbs up about it, it's a great system to organizing your photos. Lately there has been a lot of books that have come out that I really needed when I got into this hobby. I sure would've been one organized crafter by now. As for where to find this newest book, the only place I could get it from was Simple Scrapbooks. I'm sure in time it will be available through Amazon.

I have a few craft items that need to get done. I am working on some ATC's for the swap I got sucked into.. but it's a good one, right Amy! wink wink I also need to work on my Deck of Me cards, that should get done this week, since I have some extra time to work on them. Gosh I don't think I shared with everyone the new toys that are now in my craft room. I finally broke down and bought these two items to take up space in my room.
Aren't they cute! That Bind-it-All machine is amazing for making your own books, and if you want something to cut paper faster then a trimmer can, the Dreamkuts is a dream of a tool. I love how the paper cuts like butter with this machine, and how fast it can get those pages cut for a book. Fun tools and very useful!

Say it isn't so........

Polaroid camera
Originally uploaded by farmerleener
News is hitting the airwaves, that they are going to stop making the film for the Polaroid camera. Oh you might be sitting there saying, why is this a problem? Well I own one of these camera, and yes I might not use it often. Ok, I hardly ever use it, but that's not the point here. The point is to think that if I did want to use it, I wouldn't be able too, because the film is no longer around, and just thinking about it, is just plain sad.

Now for some happy news - The Hills have returned, and that makes me happy. Now if the waiting for Grey's & Housewives to air again would be over with, life would be just peachy.

Taking care of some Tags

I know it's a crappy picture, but here is my latest project I did using one of Making Memories desktop organizers and some Scenic Route paper. The idea came from Wendy Smedley and it works perfect in my room. It is meant to be a journal storage, but I am just keeping some of my things I need when I am online in it.

This first one is a tag from Bea - copy and paste this post, then change the answers to yours.

Mary Jo's tag -
So here we go! The rules: Link to your tagger and post these 3 rules on your blog. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

I am going to slack a bit on the rules here, only because I have done this tag a few times, and just think of 7 facts will be enough work.

1. I color my hair (shocking huh, lol) - I will never see gray hair in my life time.
2. I will not have a funeral - I do not want people hanging around the casket. I just want to be buried.
3. The place I would love to visit is Ireland.
4. March 19th is my work anniversary
5. I enjoy watching Mtv show The Hills
6. My favorite fruit is Strawberries, only because I love strawberry shortcake.
7. I'm happy that this is number seven of the questionaire

I think everyone who reads this tag, should take it back to their blog and complete it.

120 (mph) down Monitor Lane.....

Please don't scratch your head to hard after reading that title. Plus most of you don't know Billy Burgress and you do have to know Billy to have this title really make any sense. But haven't you ever had one of those flashbacks to the past, and it came back to you so vivid. Well this is what this post & title is all about. These words(post title) coming out of Billy's mouth, and if you could actually hear him saying it, like I did. You would probably fall off your computer chair right about now. Because it was that funny. Someday there just might be a You Tube clip here on my blog of me and Kelli doing our best Billy impersonation of the 120 down Monitor Lane. It would be an academy award performance of us 2 performing this one... LOL

Deck of Me Cards - Week 9 Biggest Revelation

Week 10 - Your Happy Place

I still have Tags from Mary Jo & Bea to post, and I will get them done some time this week.

Me and My Books

Really what can I say - I like books and here are the latest ones I have read.

If you are looking for a really good book to read right now, I highly recommend Marley & Me, by John Grogan, this book is really good. I can honestly say I wasn't expecting this book to be all that good, but oh was I wrong. I found myself laughing out loud several times throughout the book. That's probably because I could relate to many things this dog did and how the owner felt. Reading this book was like reliving the time we had with our dog Shelby who was a lab. Even when I got to the ending of the book it really hit home. I really seriously give this book two thumbs up and rank it a must read book.

You did't think I wouldn't have a scrapbook related book to share with you. Of course I do. This one is from Autumn Leaves - Design with Series, and since I have them all, I had to add this one to the collection too. Plus you will find Emily Falconbridge in this one, and what I seen of her work in the book, it alone is worth getting this book. But really overall this is a really good book and if you ever get in a rut, it would be one to pull out and get you going again.

It's about Time...... LOL

This is the clock that has replaced the "warped" Heidi Swapp clock that I had made a few months ago. The new clock was made using a Creative Imagination clock, with Fancy Pants paper & rub ons, and the numbers are from American Craft. I also have a large clothes pin to match, but forgot to take a photo of that. oops

Here's the labels for my storage boxes.

Here I just took some Queen & Co. felt and adhered it to the MM desktop organizer. I think I have a little glue collection, and to think I have another desktop organizer next to this one, with more glue stored in it. Don't ask about the other glue/adhesive storage I have. It might make for a good post someday.

Finally, these are the Ian Serving tray for the storage cubes. They are just waiting to be painted and have some pattern paper added to them.

A Week Later......

It really doesn't seem like a week since my last post, but it has been. I guess I have just been busy doing other things. I didn't mean to neglect the blog, or my readers.

Well, I'm still reorganizing my room, and today will be a day filled with doing just that. I made some tags last night to use as the labeling for my new baskets. When completed I will share pictures, I actually think the tags are pretty darn cute. Shoot everyone might think they are super cute and would want me to make some for their storage boxes, and then I will have to start a label making business. LOL Yesterday, I also got the Ian serving trays that I have been wanting for my storage cubes, and after they are decorated, I will share some pictures. Very good idea I got from Wendy Smedley for those storage cubes. Today I am also going to make a new clock for my room. I'm sure most of you remember my Heidi Swapp clock I did. Well, the overlays warped and it won't keep time now, and I need a clock in this room, that will keep time. So this next clock will be one that was inspired by Aby Garvey's scrap room, plain but cute, and one that keeps time. So today will be a day of creating, and hopefully this week, their will be more blog post then last week.

I must leave you with this weeks Barnes & Noble purchases. You know I have a weakness for books, so anytime I walk into this store, I can't leave empty handed. I will recommend both of these, the Wreak this Journal, is a fun book, with fun prompts to follow, also a great book to use as a resource for making wreak journals for friends. This is kinda of the reason I purchase this book. The second purchase is the CK-Computer Tricks for Scrapbooking 2 by Jessica Sprague, this lady is a whiz at giving great computer tips, and this second book is really good.

Ok, I am not sure if you have come across an online store that is charging way too much for shipping, but this has happen to me, this week. I was totally floored that 2 idea books and one chipboard sm. (very small $8) album would have cost me over $11 to ship to me. That's just crazy! Even for just one idea book, it was over $8, guess what? Didn't shop there, and don't plan on it in the future either. Not to mention any names, but scrapbook ..............com - I have shopped at better online store, and never paid that kind of shipping rates, ever! I just wish BPS wouldn't use them as their recommended store for class products.
