Project Made

Yesterday I managed to put together my Grateful Journal book, for the Emily challenge. By doing this project, I realize I have a ton of scraps! Another great thing about putting this book together, was the way you can use so many different companies together in one project. I have so many favorite companies, and by doing this project, it allowed me to use many of them. Loved That!

Other rambling, our first real heating bill came, and just over $600. Don is ordering us a corn burner today. He said that is enough of that, and by going this route with one of these, our furnace will probably never turn on. So by Tuesday we will have one of these installed. I also can report that I do have one Christmas present bought. Sarah's wii system has arrived, and is now hidden in a closet. She wanted one last year, but they were no where to be found, they actually are no where to be found this year, but I managed to find a store out of New York and had one shipped. She is going to be so excited on Christmas morning. As for the rest of the family, I have no idea what they are getting for Christmas. I'm really dreading the Christmas shopping this year. Everyone is getting to old, for it to be fun anymore.

We are about to wrap up the 52 week Art Journal, and it looks like we can pick up with a Grateful Journal, when the Art Journal is done. Here's were you can read about this new adventure http://www.todaysmama.com/expand-articles.php?view=208. Now I must get busy and gather my supplies.

Art Journal Week 46

Last week we reached week 46 of the Art Journal. I can't believe we are almost to week 52 of this challenge, what a fun time it has been creating these cards. Week 46 was Rejuvenation, we all need to do that every once in awhile, and I love it when I get a chance to do this. On this card I used all Elsie products, from KI Memories, the paper is from the Lola line, and the stamped images are from the Riley stamp set. I finally opened the package and used those stamps, still need to use the Lola set, soon!

Oops.....I did it again!

I had to go back out again yesterday shopping to go buy another Making Memories embellishment center. Since Michaels isn't that close to me, I thought I better call the store to see if they actually had any of these left, and I'm so glad I did. The first store I called was sold out, so I called the second one, and they still had them left. So I hurried and threw some clothes on and out the door I went. When I got there I still had time to used the first coupon, so I got some more of the jars for the shelves with that coupon, and then I went and bought the second embellishment center. After my purchases, I hurried back home and put Don to work getting these units up on my room wall. First he had to take down the Pottery Barn shelf I had up there, and move that one to a different wall, then he installed these ones. I really likes these MM ones, they look so nice on the wall. But I do have to tell you the pictured I posted of it, isn't correct to the ones on my wall, it looks like that, but the one on my wall are actually bigger then that one in the picture, there is actually 2 rows for ribbon, and the shelf is wider, and holds 4 lg jars across, not 3 like in the picture. I wonder if that one in the picture is a different model of this unit? Or they had redesign this item and made them bigger. I guess only MM can answer that question. All I know is I like the ones on my wall, but I do need to get more of the jars, I used up the ones I had, and I still have more room to add more things. Oh one more good find. I finally found the pens to go with the Cricut. I am going to have to test those out soon.
On a different note, last night I missed my 25th class reunion. I did have good intention to attend this one, and haven't missed any of the previous ones, but for some reason I just didn't have the energy to attend this one. I figure there will be another one in 5 yrs, and I'll plan on attending that one. I'm sure I missed a good time, this is usually a fun event, and I enjoy seeing all my former classmates, and catching up with all of them. I guess I will just have more to chat about in 5 yrs. So happy 25th to the class of 1982!
Special shout out to Dawn! Way to get that challenge done with those rubber stamps, the card looks fabulous. I may get this done today, but don't hold your breath, while waiting for me. LOL Another shout out to a special friend and their special package, you know who you are, and you know I adore you! Hugs sent your way!

Shopping I Went....

Oh, there are many out there, who wouldn't be caught out shopping today, but for some reason I enjoy shopping on this day. I think it's the rush to get that item I must need or something, who really knows why, I just enjoy it. Of course I love a good deal, and I think I found a couple of them. My first place was Old Navy, they had their jeans for $14. 75. I have never worn these jeans before, but hey it was a good price, so I went and tried them on, and now can claim, another favorite brand of jeans to my list. My Tommy's & Levi's are going to just have to make room for a new brand in their space. My other good deal, is an item I have been wanting for sometime now, and now I own it, plus in will go nicely in the new scraproom. Isn't it pretty? I'm thinking of getting another one, but not sure if I want to leave the house tomorrow or not. I would like to enjoy my days I have off from work doing nothing, but lounging around the house all day.
Well if you went shopping today, I hope you found a good deal or two, and didn't get ran over by a runaway shopping cart, or some other mishap.

Happy Thanksgiving!

May you and your family have a wonderful gathering today, and enjoy this day of thanks.

We will be spending our day with family today. Along with enjoying a wonderful cooked meal, and of course watching the traditional Lion's football game. Today I will be thankful for the family I have, and for the good life I live, but I won't be too thankful for the snow covered ground that I woke up to. LOL That is one thing I would care less ever happens. I'm not a person who enjoys having snow. Give me that beach weather anyday.

Yesterday I spent some time playing around with some alcohol inks on dominoes. I just love these inks! I would say it's one of my favorite products to work with, you really can do so many fun things with these inks.

The Big Game...

U of M .... Go Blue!

Today's the big football day. My favorite college team U of M is going up against Ohio State. It's going to be a tough game, and U of M is going to have to fight hard to win this one, but if there is a football god, he will give them the strength to win this one. I'll be praying this happens. LOL

Here is a little peek from my U of M album I had done. I was there the last time we beat Ohio State at the Big House (Michigan's Stadium). This win took us to the Rose Bowl.

The Mission is Complete...

Yes, it is true and the proof is in the picture, the Heidi Swapp clock is now officially altered, after sitting on my scrap table for a few weeks, the project is complete. I call this one Dress Up Time. The photo is of Sarah, and in a business attire, the photo is a bit hard to see but I couldn't get a good shot of it. But hey what really matters is the project is done, and is now keeping time on the wall again.

Lookie Dawn!! hee hee

I also managed to get the last 3 weeks of my Emily cards done. Week #42 - A Grateful Week Week #43 - Scary Week #44 - Home

A Little Review...

This review is about the 7 Gypsies ATC card holder (and not my photo of it, LOL)

It's a neat little invention from 7 Gypsies, and it serves my Emily art journal cards well, but my overall impression on it is, I don't think it is really worth the $29.37 I spent for it. In my opinion about $14.00 would be of a fair price for this small card holder. I also think it's a little too wobbly. Also if you have cards with a design on both sides, then it would be a little hard to have both sides viewed on here, unless you have some sleeves to put your cards in and punch holes in those sleeves. Since my Emily cards are only designed on one side. I was able to adhere them right to the cards. I just don't think I would used this holder for my other ATC cards. I enjoy viewing the backs of them.
Now I must talk about these books. I finished Khaled Hosseini's first book The Kite Runner the other night. I cannot do nothing but rave about how good this book was. I seriously had a hard time setting this book down. I highly recommend that you take the time and read this book, but do it before Dec 14th when the movie for this book hits the theaters. I watched the trailer for the movie, and it looks like they really brought the book to life. I will be going to see this one.
A Thousand Splendid Suns, is Khaled second book. I just picked this one up yesterday and began to read it last night. I finally stopped after I reached 100 pages, my eyes just wouldn't stay open any longer. I think if they could've I would've been up all night reading this one. A real page turner. I would highly recommend this one too, but after you read his first book The Kite Runner, I have no doubt you will read this one to.

I know....

That I haven't made as many post on here as I would like, but you know how life can get crazy sometimes, and my reason why the post on here have been slim to nil. Hopefully soon I will be back in the swing of things and I will be able to get you something to read.

But I would like to share with you someone who makes me happy.
This is Samantha my oldest daughter, here is one of the proofs for her senior pictures, and someone who makes me happy. Of course I can't believe she is going to be eighteen in a couple of months. Oh where does the time go.

Maybe tomorrow I will share the book I am about to finish, it was a good one. I may also give a review on the 7 Gyspies ATC card holder that arrived a few days ago.

Digi Playing

I don't have much to say right now. But I can share a little digi work I have been playing with. I'm just in a learning phase right now, and did this quite quickly. It can use some tweaking and isn't the perfect digi layout, but it was fun to learn a new thing or two.

That's all for now!
