Proud and Caught Up

Two things completed. I finally am caught up on the Deck of Me challenge, and my oldest child has graduated from High School, and did it being the Salutatorian of her class. How exciting is that? Very Exciting! She did such a great job on her speech, and spoke so well in front of everyone. So now one child finished, and one to go. No rush though, except I am happy that 3rd grade is over for her, she had the teacher from He** and I would never say that about a teacher, but this woman was just awful, and that's putting it mildly. When a group of 14 parents wanted their child out of that class, what is that saying? Just happy the nightmare of 3rd grade is over with.

On the music front, tune into Maroon 5 with Rhianna - Good song!

Can it Be?

Can it be? That I actually did some creating in my room? Heck ya I did! I know a bit shocking since it has been some time since I have, but I am in serious need to catch up on the Deck of Me challenge, and after last night I am now only 5 away from being caught up. A good thing!

Book Review Time

It's been awhile since I gave a little book review, so I thought I would share two books I have read recently. If you follow Janet Evanovich, her Fearless Fourteen came out last Tuesday. I am going to give this book a B-. But I can't really rant and rave over this one, it was ok. It had some of Janet's humor in it, but there was just something missing about this one, and the ending was was brought on quickly. I will still tell you to read it, just because it is a Janet book, and still worth reading. Plus with the kids home from school, this book is a very quick read, about a days worth of reading, so you will get through it quickly.

Here is another Janet Evanovich book. This one is a re-release of hers. It's not a Stephanie Plum book, but it's a good read. I will start reading the 2nd book in the latest Nora Roberts books, and as soon as I finish it, I will share my review of it.

Nascar - Slide Show

First-
Happy 9th Birthday Sarah!!! Today is my youngest birthday, so a little shout out to her.

Here's a peek of the photos taken from the Nascar trip - all the pit road/garage area pictures were taken by Don. I am not sure if you can read the sign in the photo of 2 guys standing by the fence with a sign behind them, but it states on the sign that you can't sell tickets for the event - well these two quys are holding their homemade sign, wanting tickets for the truck race - but when we saw this the guys were standing on the other side of the fence and didn't see the sign that was posted, so we asked them if we could take their picture in front of it, and they allowed us. It's one of those had to be there moments, it was quite funny at the time.
Well enjoy the pictures, the real racing ones were taken with my Rebel, which is the film version, and need to be developed, but these pictures give a tad peek at our time there.

Finally Home

What a fun racing weekend, and can you say "one happy camper"! Yes, that is a driver in that photo with me. It is my driver Ryan Newman. I was able to meet him on Saturday at a special appearance promoting his Pit Road Pets book, where all the proceed from the sale of this book go to the Ryan Newman foundation, to help out the Humane Society of Catawba County's capital campaign to build a no-kill animal shelter in Hickory, North Carolina. So my book was signed, along with my #12 baseball cap. A fun meeting and can you say cutie!

Overall, the entire time there was a good time! The men were lucky enough to get a special tour of the garage area and pit road (photo's coming soon). The person who took the men on this tour, was suppose to take us gals to meet Bobby Labonte (who is one my all-time favorite driver), but this didn't happen, so there was no meeting. Don't worry Lance, Kelli & I won't forget that one.

Now if you are a race fan, I'm sure you found the race exciting. Lots of suspense at the ending, when it was a guessing game, if there would be enough gas in Jr's gas tank to finish the race. So this made for a race to remember, but seeing Jr winning here after not winning a cup race in so long, was good to see.

It's 5 o'clock Somewhere

UNBELIEVABLE!

Now I know why there is such a big following for this man, his concert is amazing. We had so much fun, and let me tell you that this is a camera event, the scenery that is out in the parking lot with the parrotheads tailgating, is quite a picture. Just let me say when you see real white sand in a parking lot, you know it's a good time.

If you ever have the chance to see Jimmy, get tickets, it's a must see event. Don has already informed me we are going again.

Okay, now I must take off, it's a busy day here and we will be off on our next adventure in a couple of hours. It's time to go Racing!

It's Summer Time

Our swimming pool is open now, and the temp's are staying quite warm, so it will be swimming time very soon. But, first tomorrow night Don & I will be enjoy our first Summer concert of year, with Jimmy Buffett. What better way to kick off a Summer then with someone who screams Summer time. Wait that isn't correct. I should say someone who screams Margaritaville ! lol Hopefully I will be able to post a recap on Wednesday of the concert, but it will have to be a quick one, since Don & I will be in a hurry to leave on the annual Nascar vacation, with Kelli & Mark. Always a good time!

I guess I better get busy and start getting things done around here.

Shopping Report

Before I head to bed tonight, I thought I would give you a little recap of the shopping day yesterday. Good Time!

Me and the girls headed to a local malls in the hunt for the perfect dress for the oldest dd to graduate in. We did find it after she tried on several different ones (oops no photo) and found perfect shoes to go with that perfect dress, along with some bracelets, sunglasses and earrings. Oh she is going to be so darn cute, of course she is already, but this dress & accessories are going to look so cute! (I know pictures)

Oh I forgot mention the purse we found to match that dress, and dd's Mom "aka: Me" found a cute American Eagle purse to buy. We also did some shopping for youngest dd, she was in need of some new shoes. She found a cute pair, plus she got her hair cut, while we were at the Mall. Our final purchase of the day, was a new DVD player for my scrapbook room.

To finish of our day at the Mall we stopped at the Dairy Queen to indulged in our ice cream craving, that we built up, from all that shopping we had done. It's was Yummy!

It looks like I need to hire someone to start taking pictures for me, I seem to continue to forget the camera. Geez But look at the cute shopping bag I found to use for this post. Wink!
